When you eat some cherries, you enjoy much more than just their amazing taste. Besides trying to use them as a stain for my lips when I was a kid they are packed with antioxidants and offer many health benefits, including help with insomnia, joint pain, and belly fat. But the thing that makes me eat these little guys in any way, is to help ward off Alzheimer’s because of it's richness in antioxidants.
I love to get some organic frozen ones to keep around when I can't get fresh ones from the farmers market (one of my favorite places to spend in the spring and summer).
For this Recipe, I decided to add milk instead of Coconut milk and Coconut flakes to add that coconut sweetness to give it that tropical twist.
A handful of Cherries (1/4 cup) If using fresh cherries (make sure to remove the pit before adding to the blender.)
A good amount of milk (3/4 Cup)
A pinch of coconut flakes( 2 teaspoons)
If you have fresh cherries please remove the pit before you put them into the blender. Add 3/4 cup of milk and coconut flakes, blend all together. If you are using the frozen ones make sure to add more liquid if you don't like the smoothie too thick.
